Esimerkiksi hämmästyttävän hyvin ajan hammasta kestänyt house-pläjäys "I want a dog", jonka remiksasi Frankie Knuckles, kertoo muutamalla rivillä kaiken tarpeellisen yksinäisyydestä. Toinen mestariteos, hilpeän aporeettisesti otsikoitu "I don't know what you want but I can't give it anymore", kertoo petetyksi tulemisesta. Muita biisejä, joita voi onnitella ytimekkäästä ilmaisusta, on esimerkiksi "Love comes quickly", joka on itselleni läheinen ("You can fly away to the end of the world, but where does it get you?") ja jota hyräilen usein lentokoneessa istuessani, ja "You only tell me you love me when you're drunk", jonka otsikko kertonee jo kaiken olennaisen.
