Kerään tähän ketjuun asioita. En muista, koska olen viimeksi aloittanut uuden langan.

The phrase "There are no solutions, only trade-offs" is a famous maxim by economist and social thinker Thomas Sowell. It means that every choice, policy, or action has a cost and creates new problems while fixing old ones, making a 100% perfect result impossible.

Core Meaning

No perfection: You cannot fix an issue completely without giving up something else.

Hidden costs: Every benefit comes with a matching drawback.

Real choices: Progress is about picking which bad or imperfect results you can live with.

Thomas Sowell's Three Questions

Sowell used this mindset in A Conflict of Visions to test ideas by asking:

Compared to what? (Judge an idea against real alternatives, not a dream)

At what cost? (Find what and who pays the price)

What hard evidence do you have? (Look at real results, not good intentions)
Start up. Cash in. Sell out. Bro down.
